First Strike released 1.4 combatible server fix

Many of you might be wondering if you can upgrade your client to version 1.4 and still play FirstStrike. Well, the answer is: Yes you can!
Players will not have to do anything but server admins should do the following:
open mods/FirstStrike/std_archive.md5 in notepad and replace the couple lines in there with this:

Battlefield 2142 v1.40 Final Released
EA released the final version of 1.40 for Battlefield 2142. The update notes that if you have the final beta candidate installed then you do not need to download this.

Note: A corrupt / incomplete installer seems to be going around. The file on FilePlanet seems to work and does update the game to v1.40

MAIN FEATURES
- Added a new map - Highway Tampa.
- Added an autosave to kit customizations. After you customize a kit and spawn in with that kit, the customization will be automatically saved until you change it and spawn in again. Note that you must spawn in with a particular kit for it to be saved.
- Titans will now spawn up to two gunships per side
- Squad Leaders no longer have to resupply to re-equip destroyed drones

The tutorials are from various sources and authors. The link and index pages are very plain right now.

If I missed giving proper credit send me a message. I have been saving information for quite some time now and the author does not always get saved.

The information and graphics in the modding guides are hosted on this site instead of just linking to the original as a public service to create a more permanent location. (I find it very frustrating reading a tutorial and finding out that all the graphics are gone.)
